Dear Alien,

Dear Alien,

Let me tell you about Earth. There are a lot of good things about Earth.

Mother Nature is beautiful! There is fresh air, bodies of water, trees, forests and animals! There are so many things you can do in nature! I like camping, hiking, tenting, and biking! Some people are very nice! They will hold the door, do you favors and some will end up being your friend! Screens, such as cellphones, tablets, and  computers are another good thing about Earth. They are a great way to talk long distance, kill time and have fun. Though they can become addicting. These are some good things about Earth.

Earth isn’t perfect though…

Earth really would be a beautiful planet if people took care of it. For example, people litter, big factories ruin the air, we have caused global warming and polar bears might go extinct! Yet the saddest part is, there are quite a few people who think it’s a joke. Also, people can be very rude. A lot of people don’t notice your sadness or your pain but everybody notices your mistakes. A lot of people are racist. I think the worst part of humans is verbal and physical abuse. Lastly, everybody is always on a screen. Many people don’t care if it is a beautiful day outside, they will just keep gaming.

Alien, you would have to choose if you would come here because there is both good and bad things about Earth.

Oh, Rats!

My mom hates mice in the camper. It was a nice warm evening at Rainbow beach, and we were all around the bonfire. Well, everyone except my brother. He was sleeping in the camper. We were talking about “who knows what”, when my mom heard some rustling coming from the camper. I assumed it was my brother getting into the chips. Mom shushed everyone and asked my dad if he had heard anything.

While mom and dad were listening, all my sister and I could hear was the crackling fire. They heard it again! My mom picked up her poking stick and walked over to the camper. My sister and I followed cautiously.  One of the storage hatches was open, mom saw a flash of movement. She and dad started to unload the compartment. They found it! My mom took her stick and… BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! She had trapped the mouse under her stick and banged it one last time. She threw the mouse into the bush saying “good-bye pest!”, and  we all went back to the fire.

Thunder

While I am reading in my cold dark room, I can hear the loud rumbling thunder in the distance. As I run to the patio window I see my little sister hugging my mom in fear. I see the storm, the huge, rumbling clouds crawling closer every second. The sound is amazing. I can taste the humid air while I am sitting on the damp, wet, deck. The wet rain finally pours down on me. In that momemt I feel so great and all my worries slip away. But of course mom tells me to come inside. She makes some hot chocolate so I can sit at the window and watch the sharp blades of lighning shoot down. I love thunderstorms.

History

Is it important to study history? Well, it depends. It is important to learn about big wars where many people were lost. But little things that we are never going to need or use are kind of a waste of time. Everyone will go separate ways, and we will not all become history teachers. For example, I don’t think history will help me with my art. And history probably wont help Rylan or Jordan with hockey. Of course they will know and learn about hockey players in history, and I may need to draw a battle scene someday, but there is always google. Though some people enjoy history I think it is kind of boring. History is like social studies, it is called “social studies” but we actually study history in stead of being social! Either way, it depend what you are leaning about and if it is important or not.

Dear Me,

Dear Robyn,

I am writing this letter because we are doing paragraph writing, and I had to choose a topic. Earlier this morning, while I was on the  bus, Papa’s horse Bud the Stud got out! We saw Papa chasing him with the tractor! I got to school, but I  guess I was a little late because O’ Canada started playing when I was taking my stuff off!  And now I am sitting in the classroom wondering if I will be wearing a mask when I read this in the future. I’m wearing a mask right now cause COVID-19 is still hanging around. I am still in dance! Our recital is less than two weeks away! I take Lyrical, Stage And Hip-hop. Oh well, I hope you enjoyed reading my letter!

From,

Robyn

Zeus

My hamster, Zeus, is an adorable little rodent. He is small enough to fit in my hands and he is white and orange with a pink little nose. Zeus crawls around on my bed and sometimes pees on my blankets! When he rolls around in his ball he is the most adorable little thing. One of Zeus’s favorite treats is strawberries! He will gobble them up  like it is nobody’s business. He also enjoys running on his wheel at night. Hamsters are nocturnal, so sometimes Zeus is noisy at night. If I haven’t played with Zeus for a while, he will chew on the bars of his cage! He can store so much stuff in his Cheek pockets! Once, my mom gave him a baby carrot, thinking he would nibble little bits off, but he shoved the whole thing in his mouth! Zeus is the most amazing little rodent ever!

Parent Persuasion

Dear Parents,

I your eldest daughter, would like you to know that I should be allowed to stay up later than Tori and Owen. Here are my reasons: First off, I am older than both of my siblings, therefore, I should be aloud to stay up later than them. You will not need to worry about staying up with me because I will prove myself responsible of staying up. I promise to have my teeth and hair brushed and be in bed by 9:30. I will not go on any screens right before bed. As I get older, I feel you could let me stay up a little later. As I get older I also get more responsible. Eventually I will be babysitting my siblings so, I will need to stay awake until they are asleep. Thank you for reading my letter, I hope you take this in to consideration.

First Day of School

On my first day, I knew that I would be unhappy in my new school. As soon as I walked in I could smell the restrooms. the school looked like it was over 100 years old and the roof was going to fall in. My new teacher looked like she would smack you if you sassed her. All my classmates were wearing black and there I was in neon orange pants and a blue sweater. The desk I had received had been drawn on, and was very dirty with food crumbs and a stain in the top left corner. I knew I would be unhappy in my new school, on my first day.

Aquarius

If your birthday falls between January 20 and February 19, your astrological sign is Aquarius, the water carrier. The story of Aquarius came from Greek mythology. It comes from the tail of Ganymede, a young boy who was kidnapped by Zeus, the leader of the gods, as the boy cared for his sheep. Ganymede was made the servant to the gods. It is said that Zeus liked the boy so much that the constellation Aquarius was created in his honor.

She and I have many similarities, such as our love for hot chocolate. Ayla and I have a similar sense of humor and laugh at almost anything. We both enjoy playing Mario Kart and watching movies! Though we are cousins, Ayla is amazing and possesses all the qualities of a great friend.
